Photo to STL: turn a photo into a 3D printable STL file
Upload one photo. Nyzora's AI rebuilds the subject as a complete 3D model, not a flat relief or a lithophane, and you download an STL for your slicer, plus a GLB with colors.
How it works
From photo to STL file in four steps
Upload one photo
A portrait, a pet, a toy or an object, as JPG or PNG. One clear photo is enough.
AI prepares the image
The background is cleaned up and the subject is framed for 3D. Ask for a change in plain words before anything is built.
The 3D model takes shape
The credit cost shows before each paid step. The model appears in your browser: spin it around before downloading anything.
Download STL and GLB
STL for Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio or Chitubox, GLB with colors for the web or Blender. Both stay in your private history.
Relief, 3D model or file conversion: three different needs
Search results for “photo to STL” mix three kinds of tools that do different jobs. Find yours before you start.
Lithophane or flat relief
Pixel brightness becomes thickness: a backlit plate with no real volume. Nyzora does not make this kind of file.
A full 3D model of the subject
The AI rebuilds the volume, including the sides and back it cannot see: a figurine, a bust or an object to check, then print.
Converting a 3D file
Already have an OBJ or a GLB? Convert it to STL with the free tool, no AI and no credits.
Which photo works best
- JPG or PNG, sharp, well-lit, with the subject facing the camera
- One main subject on a plain or simple background
- Head-and-shoulders framing for portraits and busts
- No heavy blur, strong reflections or cropped subject
Two levels of 3D, cost shown first
3D Classic
30 credits: a quick shape test, no colors.
3D Premium
130 credits: colors (GLB) and the densest mesh, for detail when printing.
What to check in your slicer
- Set the size: no physical scale is preset
- Add supports where the model needs them
- Check thin parts such as fingers, glasses or hair
- You receive files only: nothing is shipped
Frequently asked questions
- Can I try it for free?
- Yes. Sign-up is free, needs no credit card and gives you 150 credits, enough for your first 3D model. After that, one-off credit packs start at €5.99 with no subscription, and every paid step shows its cost before you confirm.
- Is this a lithophane or relief converter?
- No. Lithophane and heightmap tools turn pixel brightness into a flat relief. Nyzora generates a complete 3D model of the subject, with real volume, that you can print as a figurine, a bust or an object.
- Which file formats do I get?
- Every successful model can be downloaded as STL, the standard format for 3D printing slicers such as Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Chitubox or Lychee, and as GLB, which keeps colors and textures for viewing, the web or 3D software. Both stay in your private history.
- Is the STL ready to print?
- It is generated for 3D printing, but check it like any model you download: import it into your slicer, set the size, then check supports and fine details such as fingers, glasses or strands of hair. Nyzora does not preset a physical size.
- Will the 3D model look exactly like my picture?
- Not exactly: it is an AI interpretation. Anything the picture does not show, such as the back of a head or a hidden paw, is reconstructed by the AI. Spin the model in the 3D viewer and check it before you download or print it.
- Is one photo enough?
- Yes. Nyzora starts from a single JPG or PNG photo and the AI rebuilds the sides and back it cannot see. It is an interpretation, not a measurement: for an exact copy of a real object, photogrammetry (dozens of shots) or a 3D scanner is more faithful.
- What is inside the STL file?
- A triangle mesh describing the surface of the model, with no color and no units: you choose the real size in your slicer. Colors are in the GLB. You can check its size, volume and open edges with Nyzora's STL checker, a free tool that uploads nothing.
- Are my photos and models public?
- Not by default: your creations stay in your private history and are not published unless you choose to. A finished creation can be deleted from “My creations”; account deletion is requested from support. To build the model, the photo is sent to the AI providers the service needs, as described in the privacy policy (in French).
- I already have an OBJ or GLB file: how do I get an STL?
- No AI or credits needed: Nyzora's free converter turns an OBJ or a GLB into an STL right in your browser, without uploading the file.
- Do I need to install any software?
- No. Upload, preview and download all happen in your browser. You only need your usual slicer to print the STL.
